Born in Mexico, Alberto studied an undergraduate degree in Physics before moving to the U.S. to pursue a Masters of Architecture at Rice University in Houston, TX. He is interested in bridging architecture and cinema by using the medium of narrative film to explore how moments of human interaction in the city are both connected and isolated by our contemporary infrastructure (i.e. highway, internet, etc.). NEXT EXIT is his first film.
A lifelong writer and photographer, Jenny grew up in the Washington, DC area and graduated from Sidwell Friends Upper School. After earning her Bachelors with honors in English at Oberlin College, she worked for two years in the documentary/educational film industry of her hometown before heading to USC’s School of Cinematic Arts where she earned her Master of Film Arts in Film Production. Working in both fictional and documentary filmmaking, she’s associate produced the recent Lifetime Movie THE PREACHER’S DAUGHTER and the acclaimed educational documentary THE CUTTING EDGE: THE MAGIC OF MOVIE EDITING. She teaches filmmaking at a Houston area college and continues to write, direct, and produce short and feature films.

Mariella De Alba teaches communication skills at the University of Houston where she also does career coaching. Mariella received her Bachelors with honors in Communication from the Tecnologico de Monterrey (ITESM) Mexico and has Masters in Mass Communication from the University of Houston. Her passions are films, non-profit work and cats.
